Brain power foods are those that help to improve your brain capability. You are what you eat! This has been quoted by many seniors emphasizing the important of food we eat. Healthy diets can help to improve our brain concentration and focus throughout the day. During the brain’s formative years, children must be given with rich nutrition. Too much fat or sugar in the food will slow down the brain function.

1. Avocado

Avocados are rich in giving the blood flow better in our brain. It also lower the blood pressure and blood sugar. This fruit is also high in calories and is a fatty fruit carrying mono-saturate fat. More and more people are adding Avocado to their daily diet as a side dish.

2. Walnuts

Walnuts carry anti-inflammatory elements and come with vital nutrient which help the flow of oxygen to our brain. Taking walnuts regularly helps you in better learning and remembering. It is a great source of vitamin E which might help to prevent cognitive decline, especially in the elderly.

3. Olive Oil

Olive oil provides mono-saturated fat and keeps our brain healthy. Frequent intake of olive oil keep you younger and healthy, especially when you grow older.

Salmon contain essential vitamins and proteins which replenish the complete body and permit our body to function properly. It comes with Omega-3’s and other anti-inflammatory substances which are beneficial for the brain. This food supports learning and memory, and also IQ. 13. Dark Chocolate

Dark Chocolate contains cocoa which has a powerful antioxidant effect for the brain. Researchers say it helps protecting against Alzheimer’s disease. It also high in minerals magnesium, iron and zinc, which are good for our brain and nervous system.

 

Eating less red meat and more white meat, more fruits, vegetables and oily fish such as cod. Also, limit alcohol intake. Less read meat help your brain power. The quality and nature of the food we eat also affecting our health and contributing to our brain power.

  1. That list of super foods is great.I eat all of them and enjoy a decent brain capacity.
    Apart from the food our brain needs one must also take care how one thinks.
    Be it positive or negative thoughts on the long run they build neuron paths ways. When that happens the brain takes these thoughts for being true, that is why one has to be carefull what one thinks. Have you heard of Dr. Amen in the US? He is the world expert on Brain Scans and has helped people who did not know why they had a certain condition and neither how to get rid of this.
    I am blessed that on my farm in the south of Spain I can grow a lot of things myself and also have happy chicken eggs.
    It is so important that people realize that the food they put into their mouth has a huge effect on their brain and their overall health.

  2. Yes, I agreed fully that positive mind and peaceful thoughts will enhance our brain function as well. When we are depressed and have sad thinking in our minds, we tend to feel down and reluctant to do anything.
